About Dr. Kaldis
Dr. Michael G. Kaldis is a board-certified orthopedic and spinal surgeon who practices in the Houston and Galveston, Texas, offices of Southwest Orthopedic Group, LLP. He specializes in surgery of the spine and treating scoliosis. Dr. Kaldis was awarded the Clinical Excellence Award from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.
Dr. Kaldis completed the majority of his medical training in Texas. He attended Texas A&M University and the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston for undergraduate and medical school, respectively. Subsequently, he supplemented his expertise during an externship in orthopedic surgery under Martin Allgöwer in Basel, Switzerland.
He returned to Texas for an internship in general surgery and residency in orthopedic surgery at the UT Health Science Center at Houston. He completed his training with a fellowship in surgery of the spine and scoliosis at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.
Dr. Kaldis is highly trained in general orthopedics and spinal surgery, and specializes in treating lumbar fusion, cervical fusion, low back pain, neck pain, sciatica, lumbar and cervical disc herniation, and adult and pediatric spinal deformity.
Dr. Kaldis believes strongly that the physician-patient relationship should include communication and understanding. He listens closely to his patients to ensure high-quality care.
Through continuing education programs, he stays informed on cutting-edge research. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Harris County Medical Society, North American Spine Society, American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, Texas Orthopaedic Association, and Houston Orthopedic Society.
