About Dr. Stautberg
Eugene Stautberg, MD has carried over an academic record of excellence and numerous awards into his orthopedic surgery practice in his hometown of Houston. Dr. Stautberg specializes in Foot and Ankle Surgery and is fellowship trained in advanced foot and ankle surgery.
A member of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Dr. Stautberg also serves on the board of directors of the Texas Orthopaedic Association. On the board he has led inititives to education residents in health policy, and he has traveled to Washington, DC on multiple occasions to meet with Congressmen and Congress women to advocate for orthopedic patients.
Dr. Stautberg has authored several articles covering orthopedic surgery techniques and has presented his research in regional and national orthopedic meetings. He continues his research in multiple areas of orthopedic medicine, including new techniques in foot and ankle surgery and the of health policy education.
A graduate The University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Stautberg first pursued a degree in chemical engineering. He later attended the University of Texas Medical School in Houston, where he earned his medical degree. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas and completed his fellowship training in foot and ankle surgery at Washington University in St. Louis.
While in school, Dr. Stautberg was a nominee for the Outstanding Overall Resident award and earned the Resident Excellence in Research award. He also maintained the overall highest orthopedic in-training master score as a chief resident.
